Mercer County Youth Art Exhibit Opens
During the months of March and April, the Chuck Mathena Center is delighted to host the 2010 Mercer County Youth Art Exhibit. Two receptions will be held giving you the opportunity to meet and mingle with the most artistically talented youth in this community! Receptions will be held on Tuesday, March 9th and Tuesday, April 13th from 5 pm to 9 pm. The exhibit opens Monday, March 8th and will remain until Friday, April 30th.
National Symphony Details Released!
At a press conference held on Thursday, January 21st, Executive Director Spring Turner released the details regarding the upcoming visit of the National Symphony based out of the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. "This will be the first visit from the National Symphony to the state of WV since 1969, and we are so thankful to receive the honor of hosting them", she said. Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning Monday, January 25th at 9 am. CMC Members can purchase now. Don't miss out on this opportunity of a lifetime!

Snowman Challenge
Details:
Snowman Challenge is a fun way to make the best of the enormous amount of snowfall we have received in our Region this Season. The contest officially starts February 10th. The deadline to enter your snowman is March 7th. This contest is open to all residents, businesses, schools and organizations. Judging will be done by Chuck Mathena Center Staff and Volunteers and the winner will be chosen on Monday, March 8, 2010. Your pictures may be posted on Chuck Mathena Center or PMCCC Websites (including social networking sites including Facebook/Myspace), appear on the local news and/or in local Newspapers.
Rules:
Snowman must be built using 2009/2010 Snow
Remember to keep it clean, all obscene entries will be disqualified
Enter as often as you wish
Submit 2 photos of your snowman, One must show the completed snowman. The other must show your snowman with its creators. Please include the location, creator(s) name(s), phone number(s), age(s), and date.

Winners in both categories will receive 4 Premium Tickets to the National Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 3pm at the Chuck Mathena Center, a First Place Certificate, and the Title of Best Snowman!
